I got in touch with Eventz N Trendz about 2 months before my wedding. Even though we planned & confirmed most of the details with the suppliers, we really needed a coordinator on the day of the wedding, so that our families didn't need to worry about anything. Uzmaan helped out with the table plan & seating plan, which was very important as there were many VIP's who attended the wedding including the President himself. He also prepared an agenda for the day so that all the suppliers knew what they needed to do at what time. He handled this very professionally & accurately as everything had to happen during auspicious times.

Having to plan a wedding in Sri Lanka while living abroad wasn't easy. I had just a total period of 5 weeks while I was visiting Sri Lanka to organize every little detail. Three months before my wedding when I was in Sri Lanka, I heard about "Eventz N Trendz." By then, I had already found all my suppliers and communicated my ideas across to them so I wasn't looking for a wedding planner as such.

However, when Uzmaan told me about the "On the Day Coordination" package, I was immediately attracted to the idea of having to pull everything together on the day. Although we planned every detail of our wedding, we wanted to give the responsibility of the day to Uzmaan and Iyanthie. We didn't want to give the responsibility to our family and friends as we wanted them to relax and enjoy the wedding.

We approached Eventz N Trendz about 15 months prior to our wedding date to help us with the day coordination. Since then they have been helpful in filling in the gaps of our wedding preparations as well. We don't live in Sri Lanka and so planning a wedding from abroad is a challenge especially when you are not sure whom to approach. Uzmaan and Iyanthie were great in responding to emails when there was an emergency and this was one of the things best about them. They were good in sending us an agenda for our wedding day based on our requirements. I found that in Sri Lanka people like to stick to what they are used to, so if you have your own personal choices Uzmaan and Iyanthie help you incorporate this element.

I would like to say to all the future Brides is make sure that you leave plenty of time before your wedding day to meet up with Uzmaan and Iyanthie and go through what YOU want for your wedding day, who is going to do what and have your agenda in place. It is also a good idea to show and go through your agenda with your retinue and your parents as they also play a key role on the day.

Tharif & I started stressing over our wedding 6 months ahead which was set for July. We were fortunate enough to have Uzmaan involved in our wedding planning from the very beginning as he was a close friend of my brother. As we were both working away from Colombo and had very little time to spare for planning the wedding, we were indeed immensely grateful to have Uzmaan do all the planning. We just had to discuss what we were expecting and he made some suggestions and it was easy for us to make the most of the little time we had away from work to prepare for the wedding.

Planning a wedding is a daunting task, having to do it all being away from Colombo was even more stressful. Although we did not receive any financial sponsors, the show went off pretty well. But it was the first time I worked with them through their company Eventz N Trendz to organize the Fashion Show during the re-launch of the Heist Bat at the Continental.
